So you made an astonishing auto-responder email orders, you wrote plenty of superb articles, and you have a very captivating landing page which sucks in the leads. Yet somehow you're receiving about no sells and you don't know why. Sound known? I understand this is a pretty ordinary problem, but it's unlucky that individual still haven't make out what's causing it.
I'll try to clarify a little of what's happening to your sales without link cloaking throughout this article. On the other hand to what you may be thinking - it is completely possible that your sales funnel is making tons of sales, but you're not noticing any of the commission. Chiefly what's happening is this: the user is altering your affiliate ID to their own, or spyware on their computer is doing it. Both of these will discontinue you from obtaining credit for the sale even though you're the one who made it. There's no way that you can discontinue them from doing that, unless you conceal your link.
Link cloaking is when you program a redirect on your website that hides affiliate ID's and makes it impossible for spyware or users to discontinue you from getting sales.
I hope you recognize the difference this could make, you could be giving someone else all of your sales already. Instead of making money from your sales funnel you may be only handing it off to someone else.
Even though you make sales always without problems, several of them might still be stolen. It shouldn't hurt anything to begin concealing your links so you lock in the sales. The problem is that it can be tough to make a good link cloak, unless you're a programmer (or something of that nature).
Instead you might use one of the several link cloaking services on the net, but I wouldn't recommend you only use the first one that you find. Many of these will in fact spoil the tracking cookies and you STILL won't get credit for the sale. You have to make sure that you're using a hiding service planned for affiliate marketing - and there aren't nearly as many of those.
I have heard terror stories of people who used redirection services such as TinyURL and Bitly - apparently they are notorious for often screwing up affiliate links and not offering you credit for any sales. Most different link restricting services will have these problems as well.
The good link cloaker is one that you may put on your own site so you don't have to worry relating anything failing or not working correctly. As I mentioned before, this may be difficult to make if you aren't a programmer - or prepared to pay one.
